The Bulgarian Deputy Minister participated in a key international meeting to combat antisemitism.

A senior Bulgarian diplomat participated in ministerial-level discussions in Israel, dedicated to contemporary challenges and the need for united efforts to counter antisemitism and hate speech. The forum brought together representatives of the 35 member states and observers of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance.

In the period of May 27-28, 2025, the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Ms. Maria Angelieva, participated in a ministerial-level meeting held in Jerusalem. The forum was organized by the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance, and representatives from 35 member states, including Bulgaria, as well as the majority of observer states in the organization, participated.

During the meeting, contemporary challenges related to the escalation of antisemitism and hate speech worldwide were discussed. The participants emphasized the need for unified and coordinated actions to counter these negative trends.

The forum in Jerusalem provided a platform for discussions and exchange of experience among representatives of the leading countries in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The aim was to identify effective strategies and policies to combat manifestations of antisemitism and intolerance in modern society.
