High-level diplomatic dialogue

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Hristo Polendakov held a key meeting with the Ambassador of Canada, Gavin Buchan. The conversation was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Priority areas for development

Polendakov emphasized that Canada is a trusted ally in NATO and a priority partner for Bulgaria. The main highlights of the bilateral cooperation include:

  • Education, science, and culture
The large Bulgarian community in Canada, which is an active factor in social and economic life, plays an important role in bringing the two countries closer together.

Future perspectives

As a key step toward deepening trade and economic ties, both sides confirmed their common interest in opening an Embassy of Canada in Sofia in the near future.
