The Interior Ministry has received 70 reports of violations in the vote in Vratsa region, filed by 10am on election day. No pre-trial proceedings have been opened on any of them.

The reports most often concern election campaigning and suspected vote buying.

One comes from the regional election commission in Vratsa: a photo of a parliamentary candidate was shown on a video wall. The commission rejected the complaint because it found no campaigning.

By 11am turnout in the region was 7.78%.

In the village of Lilyache, some older voters still have trouble with the voting machines. Residents say they are disillusioned and do not feel safe when they vote.

One resident said he votes so that goods get cheaper, prices stop rising, people can live and his children come home from abroad. All his children live abroad. His granddaughter has finished medical school and says she will live in Africa but will not come back here.

"By 2030 this country will disappear as a state – go ahead and write it down," a village resident told BNT.

On 1 November we reported that Burgas region had the most reports of election violations in Bulgaria – 97 of 415 in total by 8am, according to the Interior Ministry. Vratsa had 70 reports and Stara Zagora 44.

Another local resident also spoke to BNT: "I hope some people come who don't look only at their own pocket, so there is something for the state too."
