The general assembly of judges is hearing 21 approved candidates for the Judges' Chamber of the new Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) from the professional quota. A week later, the judges will pick six of them.
The other quotas are moving ahead too. Prosecutors already have their four representatives, chosen last Sunday in two days of voting.
Candidates from the parliamentary quota will be heard straight after the presidential election. The hearings will last five days.
MPs will vote in the plenary hall on 19 November. The vote is valid only if at least 160 MPs back 11 of the nominees.
On 24 October we reported that four of the 25 candidates for the SJC's Prosecutors' Chamber are from the Burgas judicial district, among them Yovita Grigorova, deputy appellate prosecutor of Burgas.
Investigators will choose their representatives on 21 November.
