164 Fires Extinguished in Bulgaria in 24 Hours

Over the last 24 hours, 164 fires were extinguished in the country, according to information published on the website of the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" (GDPSPP). At the same time, out of a total of 199 reported incidents, tragic incidents claimed one human life and caused injuries to two people.

One of the most alarming cases, described in the official report, concerns a tragic fire in a house. The report of the fiery inferno in Ugarchin, received by the Regional Directorate "Fire Safety and Protection of the Population" – Lovech, on September 27 at 8:41 PM, led to the intervention of firefighters. Despite the efforts, the flames took the life of a 74-year-old man.

The fire in Pazardzhik, for which the report was filed at 12:54 AM on September 27, caused serious injuries. The fire, which started in a garage, was extinguished, but a 59-year-old man was injured, receiving second-degree burns on about 30% of his face and hands. The injured person was transported to the Pazardzhik Regional Hospital by a team from the Emergency Medical Center - Pazardzhik, and was later transferred to the burn clinic in Plovdiv.

On the same day, at 7:38 PM, a report of a fire in a house in the village of Kopilovtsi, Kyustendil, was received. The fire was brought under control, but a 49-year-old man suffered from inhaling gas and smoke, as well as minor burns on the palms of both hands and his face. He was transported to the Emergency Medical Center - Kyustendil.

In addition to these serious incidents, the official report notes six false alarms for the past 24 hours.

29 fires with direct material damage have been identified, 13 of which occurred in residential buildings.

At the same time, 135 fires did not lead to material damage.
