The General Directorate for Fire Safety and Civil Protection (GDFSCP) reported a busy 24-hour period marked by numerous fires across the country.
As of 6:00 AM this morning, official information states that a total of 112 fires have been extinguished. Fortunately, there are no reports of injuries. Over the past 24 hours, firefighters responded to 147 calls, demonstrating a significant workload and rapid response from the teams.
Various Fires and Challenges
The diverse nature of the events highlights the challenges faced by the fire service. According to the report, 23 of the fires caused direct material damage. Among them are 10 fires in residential buildings, which is a particularly worrying statistic, highlighting the need for increased attention to fire safety measures in homes.
- A fire in an industrial building was also registered,
- two in auxiliary or temporary structures,
- five in vehicles and one in a forest area,
- as well as others whose details are not specified in the official report.
The extent of the damage will likely be the subject of further investigations.
The remaining 89 fires, although without material damage, also indicate potential risks. A significant portion of them " 59 " broke out in dry grass, forest litter and bushes. This is typical for the dry season and is indicative of the need for increased vigilance in these areas, especially considering the potential environmental consequences. Another 25 fires occurred in waste, and one in stubble. The GDFSCP will analyze the data to more accurately determine the causes of the fires.
Rescue Operations and False Calls
In addition to extinguishing fires, fire crews also carried out 27 rescue and assistance operations. Among them is one operation at a traffic accident, one involving hazardous materials, 24 operations of a technical assistance nature and one to assist injured citizens. The variety of tasks handled by the fire service highlights its multifaceted role in ensuring citizens_q_ safety.

Unfortunately, eight false calls were also registered, which is a concern as it takes up valuable time and resources of the fire crews. The GDFSCP will likely take measures to prevent such situations. Cases of false alarms will be investigated, which may lead to sanctions for those responsible. Against the backdrop of the large number of actual incidents, this is an additional obstacle that the fire service has had to overcome. The situation underlines the importance of responsible behaviour and the correct use of emergency services.
