10th National Conference "Thinking Ecologically for the Future" in Burgas

The 10th National Conference "Let's Think Ecologically for the Future" was held in Burgas, organized by "Prof. Dr. Assen Zlatarov" University of Burgas, Burgas Municipality, the Ministry of Education and Science, and RUI-Burgas. The forum was opened by Deputy Mayor for Education Mihail Nenov, by the Rector of the University Prof. Dr. Sotir Sotirov and Ivelina Vasileva - representative of the EU mission "Restoring our oceans and waters", and brings together scientists, teachers, students and pupils from all over the country, united by the cause of nature conservation.

Among the active participants this year were students from the 11th and 12th grades from the "Ecology and Environmental Protection" specialty of PGHT "Acad. N. D. Zelinsky". They presented three projects developed on current and significant environmental topics: "From Burgas to the Amazon: the richness and ecological biodiversity", "Wastewater treatment" and "Blue Economy: The New Horizon for Sustainable Growth".

The presentation of the young ecologists made a strong impression on the jury, which distinguished both their in-depth preparation and the creativity in the making of models and visualizations for the developed projects. The participants demonstrated not only excellent theoretical knowledge, but also skills for practical application of environmental solutions aimed at protecting the environment.

The anniversary edition of the conference is passing with increased interest and with the participation of many young people, which confirms the importance of environmental education and the need for an active civic position on the issues of sustainable future.

With each passing edition, the event affirms its role as an important platform for the exchange of ideas, good practices and inspiration for the next generation of specialists in the field of ecology.
