Sozopol is preparing to celebrate the fifth edition of the traditional Festival of Salted Fish. The event, eagerly awaited by residents and guests of the city, will take place on December 7 (Sunday), 2025 and will offer all attendees the opportunity to immerse themselves in the atmosphere of the centuries-old culinary traditions of Sozopol.

The organizers of the festival are Sozopol Municipality, the Community Center "Otets Paisiy-1896" and Rotary Club Sozopol. The event, which will begin at 11 o'clock, will take place in "Kulata" square, a central place that promises to become the epicenter of culinary delights.

A central place in the program is the competition, which invites all seafood enthusiasts to demonstrate their skills and knowledge in preparing traditional fish delicacies. The aim of the competition is to preserve and promote the unique Sozopol recipes for salted and air-dried fish, as well as for other culinary delights related to the sea.

The competition will take place in several categories, and participants will have the opportunity to participate in one or more of them. The categories include air-dried fish, salted/marinated fish, fish preserves and tarama caviar. The jury will evaluate the taste qualities and presentation of each dish, and prizes are provided for the winners in each category for first, second and third place, as well as special awards and certificates for all participants.
