The measures include the installation of flexible barriers, the application of rumble strips, the placement of road signs, and the repair of the asphalt pavement. The planned activities will be completed by the end of June 2025.
A new section of the "Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo" motorway between Byala and Veliko Tarnovo is in the process of design and construction.
Offers are open for the design and construction of the third section of the "Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo" motorway between the cities of Byala and Veliko Tarnovo. The total length of the section is close to 60 km, divided into three sub-sections. The construction of this key infrastructure project is expected to be completed within 1770 calendar days.
Verification of ground operators at Sofia "Vasil Levski" Airport
The Civil Aviation Administration has launched an extraordinary inspection of the three main ground operators working at Vasil Levski Airport in Sofia. The inspection is by order of the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Transport and Communications Grozdan Karadjov and will be conducted until June 13, in order to ensure quality and fast service for passengers and their luggage before the active summer season.
The Danube Bridge near Ruse will be closed for expansion joint repair during the night of June 12.
From 8 pm on June 12 to 4 am on June 13, traffic on the Danube Bridge in Ruse will be suspended for emergency repairs to an expansion joint in the unrenovated section of the structure. The repair work is necessary to ensure the safety of travelers until the major bridge renovation begins.
Recovery of traffic on road III-866 Mihalkovo - Krichim after heavy rainfall
The traffic for all vehicles on road III-866 Mihalkovo - Krichim between km 73 and km 81 is being restored from June 5, 2025. This is necessary after the destruction of part of the retaining wall at km 79 due to heavy rains between May 10 and 14. The Road Infrastructure Agency is taking urgent action to restore the section, including design, construction and supervision.
The Ministry guarantees passability on the Mezdra-Botevgrad road until the end of June.
The Minister of Regional Development and Public Works, Ivan Ivanov, assured that the deadline for ensuring passability on the road between Mezdra and Botevgrad will be met. The landslide problems are delaying the repair work, but the Road Infrastructure Agency and the Directorate for National Construction Supervision are working hard to eliminate them effectively.

Agency "Road Infrastructure" announces the repair of a 3-kilometer section of the "Trakia" motorway in Burgas region. Traffic will only be carried out in the overtaking lane, while the active and emergency lanes will be closed for passage. The repair work is expected to be completed by June 11.
Road repair of 13 km of a third-class road Haskovo - Mineralni bani starts on June 6
On June 6, repair work will begin on 13 km of third-class road III-806, connecting Haskovo and Mineralni bani. Traffic will be carried out in one lane at a time, regulated by road signs and signalmen. The repair activities include replacement of the pavement, improvement of drainage, and installation of road infrastructure, and are expected to be completed by August 2027.
Night cleaning of Vitinya tunnel and repair of Hemus motorway in the direction of Sofia
The movement on the Hemus Motorway (AM "Hemus") in the direction of Varna and Sofia will be restricted on June 6 for the purpose of carrying out repair activities. During the night, the Vitinya Tunnel will be cleaned, and during the day, a section between the 65th and 66th kilometers in the direction of Sofia will be repaired.
