The police in Burgas uncover crimes related to drugs.
During the last 24 hours, four thefts and one other criminal offense have been reported in Burgas. The police have uncovered a total of nine crimes, two of which are related to the possession and use of narcotic substances.
National Health Insurance Fund introduces real-time control for medicines and medical devices
The Director of the NHIF (National Health Insurance Fund) ordered all regional health insurance funds to notify their contractual partners about the introduction of real-time control when prescribing and dispensing medicinal products, medical devices and dietary foods paid for by the NHIF, effective from June 1, 2025.
Alternative routes for travel in the direction Sofia-Plovdiv-Burgas during construction work on the Trakia Motorway.
The Road Infrastructure Agency recommends to drivers of motor vehicles traveling on the Sofia-Plovdiv-Burgas route to use alternative routes during the ongoing repair work on the Trakia Motorway. The I-8 Sofia-Pazardzhik-Plovdiv and I-6 Sofia-Burgas roads are offered as more suitable options for safe and comfortable travel.
"Trakia" Motorway with restricted traffic for geodetic surveying
From May 27 to May 29, traffic on the "Trakia" motorway in the direction of Burgas between the 55th and 63rd kilometers will be restricted due to geodetic surveying. The temporary traffic organization is necessary to ensure the safety of drivers during the upcoming road surface repair.
A Karnobat incident with an electric vehicle resulted in serious injuries for a 10-year-old child.
On May 25 in Karnobat, a 33-year-old man driving an electric vehicle with a 10-year-old child on board lost control of the vehicle, resulting in both of them falling to the ground. The child was admitted to the intensive care unit with a life-threatening skull fracture. The driver was tested for alcohol and drugs, but the results were negative.
Suspects arrested in Sunny Beach for drug possession
On May 26 in Sunny Beach, employees of the Regional Police Department - Nessebar stopped for inspection two men who were moving at night without reflective elements. During the search of one of them, a dry green herbal mass, presumably a narcotic substance, was found. The man was detained for 24 hours, and the investigation continues.
Burgas hosts the first student beach volleyball tournament
The debut edition of a student beach volleyball tournament will be held in Burgas on May 31 and June 1. The organizers of the event are the municipal enterprise "International Youth Cultural Center"-Burgas and the Burgas Beach Volleyball Club. The tournament will also include a charitable cause in support of 14-year-old Hristan Vasilev, who is fighting a rare and aggressive disease.

An elderly man inflicts injury on his mother in Burgas
On May 26 in Burgas, a 61-year-old disabled man, after a dispute over a property, inflicts a stab wound with a knife on his 81-year-old mother, with whom he was living. The woman was taken to the hospital, where it was found that the wound was superficial and not life-threatening. A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in the case.

A motorcyclist who drove under the influence of alcohol was detained in Obzor.
On May 25, employees of the Regional Police Department - Nessebar stopped for inspection a moped in Obzor, driven by a 35-year-old man without a license, who turned out to have an alcohol concentration of 2.15 per mille. The driver refused to give a blood sample for analysis and was detained for 24 hours, with a fast-track case being initiated.
Fight against mosquitoes: A disinfection station in Burgas covers wide urban areas
Disinfection station - Burgas will carry out a large-scale campaign for spraying against mosquitoes in various residential areas, parks and biotope zones in the city. The treatments will be carried out in the period from May 27 to June 20, 2025, covering almost all areas of Burgas.

Burgas hosts prestigious acrobatic competitions in May and June
The Arena Burgas Sports Hall will host the FIG's Second World Acro Cup and the Fifth International Acro Cup in Burgas from May 30 to June 1, 2025. Over 500 gymnasts from 15 countries are expected to participate in the event, organized by the Bulgarian Acrobatic Gymnastics Federation, the Municipality of Burgas, and the Chernomorets Acrobatic Gymnastics Club.
