Caretaker Health Minister Assoc. Prof. Mihail Okoliyski expressed concerns about the state of the emergency helicopter bases. Due to a lack of construction permits and unprepared terrains, there is a risk of failure of the investment under the Recovery and Resilience Plan, which could lead to a loss of funds for the bases (around 6.3 million euros) and for the helicopters (over 80 million euros). Urgent measures have been proposed to transfer funding from the Plan to state funding.
