Temporary restrictions for heavy goods vehicles in August
In order to increase safety and ease traffic, the Road Infrastructure Agency is introducing temporary restrictions on the movement of trucks over 12 tons.
The restriction applies every Friday and Sunday until the end of August during peak hours from 16:00 to 20:00.
Where are the restrictions being introduced?
- Trakia Motorway
- Struma Motorway
- Road I-1 (Kresna Gorge) in the section Simitli – Kulata border checkpoint
Important details:
- Exceptions: The restriction does not apply to the transport of dangerous goods (ADR), live animals, perishable goods, and public transport.
- Reversible traffic: A temporary organization with two lanes in the direction of heavier traffic will be introduced in the Simitli area.
- Information channels: Drivers can monitor traffic in real-time through the interactive map on bgtoll.bg.
The Road Infrastructure Agency urges drivers not to use emergency lanes on motorways and to drive with increased caution.
