Current situation at border checkpoints
As of 06:00 today, the General Directorate "Border Police" reports normal traffic at all border checkpoints in the country.
Border with Romania and the Danube River
Traffic on the Danube Bridge at Ruse – Giurgiu is flowing normally in both lanes following the completion of repair works.
Important: The ferry connections Oryahovo – Bechet and Svishtov – Zimnicea have temporarily suspended operations due to the low water level of the Danube River.
The Ostrov – Chiciu ferry is also not operating due to stranded equipment that was carrying out riverbed deepening activities.
Traveling to Greece
- Via the "Rudozem", "Zlatograd", "Makaza", and "Ivaylovgrad" checkpoints: only cars and vans up to 3.5 tons are permitted to pass.
- Via "Kulata", "Ilinden", and "Kapitan Petko Voyvoda": cars, buses, and heavy goods vehicles are permitted to pass.
Other borders
Traffic through the checkpoints with Turkey, the Republic of North Macedonia, and Serbia is proceeding normally and without restrictions.
