Meteorological Alarm Mode: Dangerous Weather Threatens Bulgaria

The meteorological situation in the country today became extremely dynamic, with institutional experts introducing differentiated levels of meteorological danger in various regional zones.

Orange code, which signals the highest warning, was activated for areas with increased risk – Gabrovo, Veliko Tarnovo, Plovdiv, Varna, and Dobrich. In these geographical areas, synopticians forecast short-term but extremely intense precipitation processes, accompanied by gusty winds and electrical discharges.

Parallel to this, yellow code covers additional territories, including Ruse, Shumen, Sliven, and Yambol. These areas are under observation due to potential meteorological disturbances, albeit with lower intensity.

The forecast indicates that afternoon and evening time zones will be critical. Formation of cumulonimbus clouds with local short-term but strong rainfall is expected. Meteorologists warn of possible hail, especially in areas with unstable air masses.

The contrast in climatic conditions is most vividly expressed in Southeast Bulgaria, where temperatures reach extreme 37–38°C. The regions of Burgas, Stara Zagora, and Haskovo are facing an increased risk of fires, especially in areas with dried vegetation.

An interesting cultural nuance is the date July 17 – the last of the traditional "hot days" and the day of Saint Marina, who in folk beliefs is associated with natural elements.

Official institutions – NIMH and the General Directorate "Fire Safety and Population Protection", urge citizens to exercise maximum caution. Experts advise avoiding staying in natural elements, not crossing flooded areas, and taking preventive measures to secure personal property.
