Zhelyazkov on the Political Season: Stability and Responsibility

At the beginning of the new political season, which is already tangible, the political situation is the subject of increased attention. Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov opened today's regular government meeting with alarming findings, signaling deliberate influences on the political environment, which, in his words, obviously aim at instability. The meeting, which took place against the backdrop of increasingly heavy political winds, witnessed a critical call to the members of the cabinet.

Zhelyazkov called on the ministers to show resilience and professionalism, not to succumb to provocations, both collective and personal. Obviously, the aim is to maintain stability in this dynamic period. He emphasized that the government demonstrates a strong collective spirit, a clear coalition culture, and a commitment to the implementation of the goals and tasks set out in the government program. The Prime Minister pointed to the reactions of the cabinet as an indicator of this commitment – reactions which, according to him, are correct and timely in every situation, from a public or natural aspect.

The atmosphere in the hall was highlighted by tragic circumstances. Zhelyazkov expressed condolences to the family of Stefan Ivanov, an employee of "Border Police", who lost his life in the flood in Elenite, as well as to all those who lost their lives as a result of the natural disaster. In this moment of grief, he sent wishes for courage to the colleagues of the deceased, urging them to cope with the upcoming challenges.

The Prime Minister emphasized the achieved political maturity of the cabinet, stating that inherited problems can no longer be an excuse. According to him, a regular cabinet, with a clearly defined mandate, has the ability to address problems effectively without postponing them. Zhelyazkov emphasized that the government has taken risks along its path and must bear responsibility for its decisions.

Expectations of the ministers are high. The Prime Minister insisted not on excuses, but on solutions, on correct communication, and on a high degree of accountability and responsibility. He emphasized that the future assessment of the cabinet will be based on the results achieved, and not on the excuses for the past. "At the moment we become former, we must not be in the role of those who, at the moment, we believe have not coped with the tasks," said Zhelyazkov. He defined this as a clear search for personal and collective commitment within the government. Turning his attention to the upcoming work in the social and economic spheres, Zhelyazkov concluded that the basis of every decision is in the explanation of what has been inherited and achieved, but this is already a commitment of the government.
