Bulgarian Posts is now taking applications for winter heating aid for the 2026-2027 season at 2,142 branches across the country, the company's press office says.
Interest is growing. In August and September, applications for the service rose 27% compared with the same two months in 2025.
Post offices also handle 76 other services for the Social Assistance Agency, the Employment Agency and the National Social Security Institute. Bulgarian Posts lists on its website which branch offers what.
The full heating aid payment for the coming winter is 321.95 euros. Under a government decision, people and families with no income who heat their homes with solid fuel will get the whole sum in one payment. The aid is expected to reach at least 20,000 people and families, BTA reports.
