Wind Energy in Europe: Current Data
Over the past 24 hours, wind power plants in Europe generated 13% of the total electricity, according to the latest data from the WindEurope Power Numbers bulletin.
The share of wind energy remains a key factor for the continent's sustainable energy future.
Production: Onshore vs. Offshore
- Onshore wind farms: Produced 11.1% of the energy (818 gigawatt-hours).
- Offshore wind farms: Contributed 1.9% (135 gigawatt-hours).
Production Leaders
The highest shares of wind energy in the national energy mix are reported by:
- Denmark: 43.3%
- Germany: 29.2%
- Sweden: 29%
In absolute terms, the largest quantities were produced by Germany (369 GWh), France (94.7 GWh), and Poland (73.3 GWh).
