Two degrees cooler and wind up to 27 km/h

Wednesday in Burgas is colder and windier than Tuesday. The highest temperature drops from 17 to 15 degrees, and the northern wind strengthens from around 19 to 27 km/h. It will feel colder outside than the thermometer shows: the feels-like temperature is at most 13 degrees.

The rain is easing. For the whole day, a little over a liter per square meter is expected, almost all of it in the morning, while the afternoon and evening stay dry.

Drizzle and 10 degrees at 8 a.m.

The sun rises at 07:20, but the clouds hide it. At 8 a.m. it is 10 degrees, drizzling, and humidity reaches 88 percent. This is the most unpleasant part of the day for those waiting for a bus at the stop or taking children to school: it is wet, cool and windy.

Around 2 p.m. the rain stops. The thermometer shows 14 degrees, the sky is cloudy, and humidity drops to 60 percent. The air becomes drier and a walk is bearable if you are dressed warmly.

The evening remains cloudy, but without rain. At 8 p.m. it is 13 degrees with humidity of 66 percent. The sun sets at 18:31 and the day is 11 hours and 11 minutes long, three minutes shorter than yesterday. The UV index is 4, moderate, but under the thick clouds the sun is barely visible and you will not need sunscreen.

The northern wind brings migratory birds over Lake Atanasovsko and the Vaya

Burgas lies on the Via Pontica, the second-largest bird migration route in Europe. The autumn migration continues through October, and the northern wind blows at the backs of the flocks flying south to Africa and the Mediterranean. On such days the birds cover more distance with less effort.

In October, ducks, cormorants and other waterbirds arrive at the lakes and stay around Burgas for the winter. The best time to watch them is in the afternoon, when the rain stops and visibility improves. Good spots are the observation point at Lake Atanasovsko by the road to Varna and the shores of the Vaya near Dolno Ezerovo. Bring binoculars and warm clothing, because on the open shore the wind is felt most strongly.

A hooded jacket, a cool morning and wet asphalt

In the morning wear a hooded jacket with a sweater underneath and put on closed shoes that do not let water through. With wind of 27 km/h an umbrella is hard to hold, especially on the bridge by Lake Atanasovsko and along the seaside promenade, so the hood does more good. In the afternoon the jacket can stay unzipped, but in the evening at 13 degrees you will need it again.

If you run or ride a bike, go out after 2 p.m., when it is dry and warmest. Along the sea toward Sarafovo you will be running against the wind, so start in that direction and come back with the wind at your back. It is good for children on the playgrounds in the neighborhoods to wear a hat.

Drivers should be careful in the morning. The roads are wet, there are fallen leaves on them, and at 88 percent humidity the car windows fog up quickly. Keep a greater distance, especially on Transportna Street and on the road to Sunny Beach, where the northern wind sways taller vehicles and vans.

Thursday: 8 degrees in the morning and no rain

On Thursday it is dry and cloudy, from 8 to 17 degrees, with a northwest wind of around 20 km/h.
