The dry weekend ends with rain on Monday evening
On Saturday, 10 October, Burgas saw up to 25 degrees and variable skies, and on Sunday it was warm again, with broken clouds and no rain. Monday starts like the weekend, but in the evening heavy rain passes over the city. It is followed by a wet and cooler Tuesday.
15 degrees in the morning, 24 at noon, 17 and rain at 8 p.m.
The sun rises at 07:18. At 8 a.m. it is cloudy and around 15 degrees, and humidity is 70 percent, so the air is cool and a little heavy on the way to work and school. Towards noon the clouds break up.
At 2 p.m. it is mostly clear and the thermometer reaches 24 degrees.
Shortly after sunset at 18:35 the weather turns. At 8 p.m. it is 17 degrees and raining heavily, and for the whole day close to 5 liters per square meter are expected, almost all of it in the evening. The daylight part of the day is 11 hours and 17 minutes, two minutes shorter than Sunday.
Humidity from 48 to 98 percent in six hours
Between 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. the temperature drops by 7 degrees, while humidity rises from 48 to 98 percent. The body feels such a rapid change. People who are sensitive to the weather complain on such days of headaches, fatigue and joint pain, most often in the evening, before the rain starts.
More water during the day, a calm evening and regularly taken medication, if one takes any, all help. Anyone with high blood pressure or heart problems is better off not exerting themselves physically after 6 p.m.
UV index 4 around noon
The sun in October no longer burns like in summer, but with an index of 4 fair skin can turn red if a person stays outside for a long time around noon. For children at the playground or on the beach a hat is enough, while for a longer stay outdoors a light sunscreen is also needed. Sunglasses help drivers, because in the afternoon the sun is low over the road.
North wind of about 12 km/h from the land
The wind blows from the north, at about 12 km/h. In Burgas the north wind comes from the land and Atanasovsko Lake, not from the sea. That is why it is calm along the Seaside Promenade and on the Bridge, and there is none of the salty chill that the east wind brought on Sunday. In the evening, together with the rain, the same wind brings in cooler air.
Workout and walk until 5 p.m.
For running, cycling or football outdoors the most comfortable time is between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., when it is dry and warm, up to 24 degrees, and the air is not sticky. Evening workouts in the Sea Garden and on school sports fields are better moved indoors.
Clothing for the day is in layers: a long-sleeved top and a jacket in the morning, a T-shirt at noon, a waterproof jacket or raincoat for the evening. Parents who pick up their children after 6 p.m. should put dry socks in their backpacks.
Wet road and poor visibility after 7 p.m.
The commute home from work on Monday coincides with the start of the rain. Those who can should leave before 6 p.m. Later, heavy rain in the dark reduces visibility, and in underpasses and low sections of the boulevards water collects quickly. A greater following distance, lower speed and headlights on are needed. Fallen leaves on wet asphalt are slippery, especially on bends and pedestrian crossings.
Tuesday: 16 mm of rain and up to 16 degrees
On Tuesday it rains heavily, about 16 liters per square meter, temperatures are between 11 and 16 degrees, and the north wind strengthens to about 20 km/h.
