Kostadin Kostadinov proposes new concession agreements

The Chairman of "Vazrazhdane", Kostadin Kostadinov, and a group of members of parliament have submitted a draft resolution to Parliament aimed at renegotiating concessions for the extraction of gold, silver, copper, and rare metals.

Underground wealth is exclusive state property, but the state receives negligible revenue and has no real control over the extraction, the sponsors state.

Key arguments for change:

  • Lack of transparency: All extraction reports are based solely on declarations made by the concessionaires.
  • Economic obsolescence: The contracts were signed under fundamentally different market conditions and metal prices.
  • Loss of control: Following the repeal of key clauses, the state is unable to verify the exact content of precious metals in the exported concentrate.

"Vazrazhdane" insists on higher concession fees, strict environmental supervision, and effective land reclamation. In the event that renegotiation is impossible, the party proposes the immediate termination of the contracts.

The initiative is part of the party's broader policy for protecting national wealth, following their demand for the return of the gold reserve to the vaults of the BNB.
