New health insurance contribution amounts

From August 1, 2026, the amount of the mandatory health insurance contribution for individuals who are not covered by the state or an employer increases to 24.81 euros. The change stems from the increase in the minimum monthly insurance income for self-insured individuals to 620.20 euros.

The health insurance contribution for these individuals is calculated as 8% on an amount of 310.10 euros.

Key deadlines and procedures

  • Deadline for payment: By the 25th day of the month following the month to which the contributions relate.
  • Declaration: Form No. 7 is submitted through the NRA portal using a personal identification code (PIC) or qualified electronic signature (QES).
  • Interruption of rights: Rights are interrupted if more than three contributions are unpaid for the last 36 months.
  • Restoration: Requires payment of all due contributions for the last 60 months.
