The "Social Center Burgas" Association is officially extending the deadline for the "Under the Starry Sky" literary contest until September 30, 2026. This creative initiative is organized by the association in partnership with the Municipality of Burgas and is dedicated to marking the 15th anniversary of the organization's founding. The contest was also established as a tribute to the memory of poet Zvezdelina Pramatarova, and its primary goal is to stimulate literary talent and creative expression among people with diverse abilities while promoting a love for the Bulgarian language.

The competition is open to users of social services within the Burgas municipality, as well as people with specific needs. Participation is also open to those connected to them—parents, assistants, and social service employees. Participants are invited to interpret the theme "Life and its countless manifestations – friendship, love, pain, loss, meaning, the sea, nature…" through their own personal perspectives and experiences. Authors may present their ideas in various literary forms, including:

  • a poem;
  • a fairy tale;
  • a short story;
  • an essay.

Anyone interested may submit up to three original works that have not been published prior to the application. Regarding technical requirements, texts should be prepared in Times New Roman font, size 12, with 1.5 line spacing. The organizers have set clear eligibility criteria: works containing hate speech or generated with the help of artificial intelligence will not be considered. The extension of the deadline is prompted by the desire to give more time to everyone who carries a memory, a story, or a personal perspective to share it.

The authors of the highest-rated works will be awarded prizes, and every participant will receive a certificate for their contribution to the initiative. The results of the literary challenge will be announced on the eve of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities – December 3. The organizers remind participants that the deadline for submitting materials is September 30, emphasizing that under the starry sky, every story has its own place.
