Tripartite Cooperation Postpones Meeting Due to Budget Disputes

The Tripartite Cooperation Council is postponing its planned meeting, announced Vaska Shushneva, the Council's secretary, to the media in front of the Council of Ministers building. The unusual situation arose against the backdrop of growing tension between key participants in the process of forming the state budget.

Employers' organizations are refusing to participate in the scheduled meeting. They expressed categorical disagreement with certain parameters laid down in the draft state budget. This decision signals potential challenges in the process of adopting the financial plan for the upcoming period.

The agenda of the National Tripartite Cooperation Council included a discussion of key legislative acts. The program included the draft Law on the budget of the National Health Insurance Fund (NHIF) and the Law on the budget of the State Social Security (SSS) for 2026, as well as the draft Law on the state budget of the Republic of Bulgaria for the same year. These draft laws are of essential importance for financial planning and the provision of social services for the population.
