On June 7, the Cultural and Tourist Complex "Chengene Skele" hosted one of the largest sports events on the Black Sea coast. For the fifth consecutive year, nearly 700 triathletes from Bulgaria and abroad competed in Rosenetc Park. The event was organized by the "Lion Heart" association, in partnership with the "Active Life" sports club and with the financial support of the Municipality of Burgas.
The event will be remembered for the unique emotions, both for the participants and for the nearly thousand spectators. The first discipline that the triathletes had to cope with was swimming in the waters of "Chengene Skele". After the unique mass start, the competitors swam the "Chengene Skele" waters twice - each lap 750 meters long (a total of 1500 meters). After swimming, the participants got on their bikes and started a fierce pedaling and relentless pursuit in Rosenetc Park and the Strandzha Mountain. The total length of the cycling track is 40 km. The last discipline in the triathlon is a 10 km run in the Rosenetc eco-park. The route passes through exceptionally picturesque areas, scattered throughout the park.
In the end, after these superhuman efforts, the winner among the men was Ivan Grablev with a record time of 2:43:21. Among the women, the big trophy was taken by Maria Tsvetkova with a time of 3:49:22. In addition to individual events, double and triple relay races are held within the format.
"For the fifth consecutive year, we are organizing this incredible event, and to our delight, the place where we hold it continues to develop. As every year, the event attracts great people who prefer active tourism in our beautiful Black Sea region. The competition contributed to the early opening of the season, all participants are impressed by the conditions for sports and family tourism that the park offers and fell in love with "Chengene Skele" - one of the few places in Bulgaria where we can watch the sunset over the sea. This was our task. Of course, we cannot ignore the economic impact on the region, as in the days before and after the competition, all accommodation facilities in Rosenetc Park, Kraymoriye and the nearby resorts are filled with participants and their families, and this is an important part of tourism in the region. We thank the Municipality of Burgas for being our partner, because without their help, the Lion Heart Utopia could not have happened. We are also grateful to all our partners and volunteers, without whom the Lion Heart would have been just a good idea," the organizers commented.
