The commissions for protection of competition, consumers, and communication regulation signed an agreement for coordinated actions, which will ensure more effective protection of citizens' interests in the context of the upcoming introduction of the euro.

A strategic partnership between key state institutions was officially announced today, when the CPC, CPA, and CRC signed a memorandum of joint activity. The document aims to radically improve inter-agency coordination and create an integrated mechanism for protecting consumer interests.

CRC Chairman Ivan Dimitrov emphasized the critical need to combine expert potential. "Isolated work of individual regulators inevitably leads to loss of efficiency and incorrect influence on market prices," he stated. Dimitrov added that preliminary agreements have been reached with telecommunications and courier companies over the past two weeks.

Maria Filipova from the CPA highlighted the specific benefits of cooperation. She announced the upcoming creation of a unified consumer portal that will provide full transparency of mobile services. In parallel, existing protection rules in the electronic communications sector will be revised.

Assoc. Prof. Rosen Karadimov from the CPC defined the introduction of the euro as a catalyst for inter-agency interaction. "This process motivates us to create a working communication model that will continue even after the monetary change," he explained. Karadimov also reported an upcoming sectoral analysis of the telecommunications market.

A key focus of the agreement is prevention against unjustified price increases during the currency transition. The institutions will coordinate their actions to guarantee maximum protection of consumer interests and market stability.

Experts emphasized that joint activity will allow filling regulatory gaps and more effective control over market processes. The memorandum provides for periodic working meetings, information exchange, and synchronized inspection activities.

The new cooperation model is expected to increase public confidence in state regulatory mechanisms and provide better consumer protection in the context of upcoming significant economic changes.
