The National Tripartite Cooperation Council (NSTS) is meeting on three items, the main one being a new way to set the minimum wage.

The minimum wage for 2027 cannot be higher than €678.80, but the government has not yet said what the exact figure will be.

Draft changes to the regulation on the structure and organisation of wages would introduce the formula already written into the Labour Code. The draft is open for public consultation.

MPs have sharply criticised the wording of the regulation, saying it is too vague and open to different readings.

Natalia Efremova said she will push for the minimum wage to be set at the maximum level.

Galab Donev, deputy prime minister and finance minister, commented on the changes to the tax laws. He said they are open for public consultation. The NSTS budget policy committee meets this week, and as usual the social partners will discuss the details there and set out their views.

"The package of tax laws will be discussed at a meeting of the National Tripartite Cooperation Council, which I plan to hold next week," Donev said.
