The President of KNSB Plamen Dimitrov held a meeting with the Chairperson of the Consumer Protection Commission Maria Filipova, where they discussed the possibilities for joint actions in the process of introducing the euro in Bulgaria. The meeting was also attended by the Chief Economist of KNSB Lyuboslav Kostov and Vice President Todor Kapitanov.
The main goal of the meeting is to protect citizens from unjustified price increases of food and other essential goods from the small consumer basket. Plamen Dimitrov explained that KNSB will expand price monitoring, adding water, coffee, pastry, and lemons to the goods they are already tracking.
Maria Filipova, for her part, confirmed that the Consumer Protection Commission supports the KNSB proposal for mandatory labeling of goods' delivery prices. This measure will provide greater transparency and help consumers track changes.
