Gagam is one of Revanski's deputies. The council named him two days after the mayor was detained, and he is running the municipality for now.

Preparations for Sunday's presidential election in Belitsa are going ahead as normal despite the mayor's detention, the regional election commission in Blagoevgrad said. Election papers have already reached the municipality, and polling station commissions will receive them tomorrow.
After Revanski was detained, some local people worried about whether to vote on Sunday.
