Parliament Speaker Rotation: Kiselova in Pernik

The Speaker of the National Assembly, Natalia Kiseleva, commented in Pernik on the current topic of the upcoming rotation of the leadership position in the parliament. The decision to change the Speaker, a key figure in the country's governance, is to be made under conditions of political tension.

After numerous questions asked during her visit, Kiseleva emphasized the importance of party discipline and coalition agreements. "I am a representative of one of the parties that decided to participate in the government. The issues that subsequently arise are discussed first by the collective bodies of the Bulgarian Socialist Party, then by the coalition council, and finally in the council for joint governance. Whatever decisions are made, they will be implemented", the Speaker stated.

The decision on the changes at the top of the legislative branch appears to be made by the leaders of the parties included in the ruling coalition. Observers note that the issue of rotation is being discussed at all levels, from the internal party structures to the coalition council, signaling the complexity of the process.

Asked about her future, in case she does not retain the Speaker's chair, Kiseleva made it clear that she does not intend to retire from politics. She stressed that she sees no reason not to remain a Member of Parliament. This meets the expectations that politicians are ready to remain active in the National Assembly, regardless of their specific position.

In the context of her answers, Kiseleva recalled two specific priorities that were set before her. "I had two party assignments - the first was that there should be no elections until 2024, which was fulfilled with my election. The second - from the voters in the 23rd district - was that there should also be no elections this year", she added. These statements underscore the Speaker's commitment to stability and the prevention of early elections, especially in the context of the unstable political environment.

The occasion for Natalia Kiseleva's visit to Pernik was the solemn ceremony for awarding the winners of the Republican Chess Tournament for boys and girls under 20 years of age. The presence of the Speaker of the National Assembly underlines the importance given to sports and the development of young people.
