Regional Governor Diko Dikov held consultations with political parties and coalitions to determine the composition of the District Election Commission (RIC) in Burgas. The commission will be responsible for the upcoming presidential and vice-presidential elections.

The total number of members in the RIC-Burgas composition amounts to 17 people, including a chairperson, deputy chairpersons, and a secretary. The distribution includes the "Progressive Bulgaria" coalition with 8 representatives, the "GERB–SDS" coalition with 3, the "PP–DB" coalition with 3, the "Movement for Rights and Freedoms – DPS" party with 2, and the "Vazrazhdane" party with 1 member.

The participants unanimously accepted the structure of the commission proposed by "Progressive Bulgaria," which includes a chairperson, three deputy chairpersons, a secretary, and 12 members. Despite the regional governor's call for consensus, the parties failed to reach an agreement on the key positions.

Two candidates were nominated for the position of chairperson – Georgi Mihov from "Progressive Bulgaria" and Ivan Ivanov from "Vazrazhdane." Only Natali Hristova from DPS was nominated for the position of secretary. Fani Semerdzhieva from "GERB-SDS" and Milen Kostadinov from "We Continue the Change – Democratic Bulgaria" were proposed for deputy chairpersons.

Due to the lack of agreement, the Burgas Regional Administration will forward the documentation to the Central Election Commission. The CEC is set to make a decision on the distribution of leadership positions and the final appointment of the RIC-Burgas composition.
