The Commission for Protection of Competition and the Commission for Consumer Protection are taking joint actions to establish possible abuses in the pricing of fuels by "Lukoil Neftochim Burgas" AD and "Lukoil Bulgaria" EOOD. A thorough inspection is forthcoming to determine whether the economic interests of consumers have been harmed.

In connection with the determination of fuel prices by "Lukoil Neftochim Burgas" AD and "Lukoil Bulgaria" EOOD, the Commission for Protection of Competition has established reasonable assumptions of potential harm to consumers. In response, the Consumer Protection Commission has taken up the case and will conduct an in-depth inspection to determine whether the economic interests of people have been affected in the retail fuel trade. In the course of the inspection, the collected data will be requested and analyzed.

The efforts of the Consumer Protection Commission will be focused primarily on establishing whether there have been violations of people's rights in determining the final price of fuels. These actions represent only part of the close interaction and constant coordination between the two institutions, with a view to preventing violations as effectively as possible and ensuring a deterrent effect on the behavior of unscrupulous traders.
