Radev: Triumph of the Abnormal in Bulgarian Politics

Triumph of abnormality - that's how President Rumen Radev described what's happening in Bulgarian politics, commenting on the statement of GERB leader Boyko Borisov, made days ago at the party headquarters. The words of the head of state come after a series of events that provoked sharp reactions in the public and political circles.

In a statement to media representatives, President Radev expressed his categorical position regarding the development of the political situation. According to him, the country is witnessing the capitulation of Borisov to Delyan Peevski, which, according to him, represents a surrender of power. "This illegitimate and anti-democratic action is taking place before the eyes of the people," the president emphasized, referring to the actions of the political forces. He stressed that such a move is not supported by the will of the voters, including those who voted for Borisov's party, but did not support Delyan Peevski. "They must finally understand that the voters are not serfs," the president was emphatic.

Observers note that the president's statement comes at a time of increased political tension and the search for solutions for the governance of the country. Unexpected coalitions and changes in political positions are becoming part of the daily political space.

President Radev did not spare his criticism of the way the Bulgarian Prime Minister is treated. "No one has allowed themselves to behave so humiliatingly towards the Bulgarian Prime Minister," he said, stressing that the main figure in the parliamentary republic - the Chairman of the National Assembly, has been reduced to a "fruit and vegetable". According to him, power is currently concentrated in the hands of two people who are exchanging it. "And this cannot continue any longer," the president added.

Against the backdrop of these harsh criticisms, President Radev confirmed his commitment to Bulgarian citizens. "My party, my so-called new political project, are the Bulgarian citizens and I will continue to defend their interests with all the means that the Constitution has assigned to me," he was emphatic.

On the same day, President Rumen Radev attended a ceremony in front of the Monument to the Bulgarian Pilot in Sofia on the occasion of the Aviation and Air Force Holiday.
