Radev: The reform and "house book" violate the law

The abuses of the country's basic law began with the hasty reform implemented by the ruling coalition, which introduced, as called by the president himself, the so-called "house book".

This change, as became clear from the words of the head of state, was created to allow political parties to transfer power, regardless of the will of society and its desire for early elections. This was stated by President Rumen Radev to the assembled journalists, answering a question regarding the rotation of the speaker of parliament.

Currently, according to him, any appointment at the head of the National Assembly is aimed primarily at filling this "house book" with potential future caretaker prime ministers, President Radev emphasized.

According to the president, the political class is increasingly sinking into the quagmire of lawlessness.

The head of state also noted that the short period during which Natalia Kiseleva held the speaker's position will be remembered primarily for the gross violation of the law through her refusal to consider the president's proposal for a referendum. This action was performed by a person teaching constitutional law, he added.

In response to a journalistic question regarding the temporary restriction on the export and intra-community supplies of petroleum products to member states of the European Union, President Radev pointed out that this is a necessary preventive measure, which, in his opinion, is overdue.

The most important task facing the government now is to prevent fuel shortages and the subsequent price shock. According to the president, this would have an extremely negative impact on the economy, the daily life of the people, and could lead to difficult-to-predict consequences.

Regarding the warnings of the European Union about the danger of the project called "Serbian world", the president emphasized that the Western Balkans represent a critical point for security and that all the attention of the European Union is focused on them. He added that it is high time for all European institutions to deal with this issue, as it is sensitive, including for the country.
