School Bus Inspection: 1000 Checked

The Executive Agency "Automotive Administration" conducted a large-scale inspection of school buses in anticipation of the new school year.

According to a statement by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, nearly 1000 buses underwent a thorough inspection.

The results of the inspections, which started on August 14, 2025, are worrying, although a catastrophic picture does not emerge.

Despite the extensive control, only one fine was issued " to a driver for lack of a valid technical inspection. This suggests that possibly a large part of the established violations were of an administrative nature and were rectified on the spot.

However, inspectors issued 36 orders for rectification of inconsistencies.

These inconsistencies, although corrected, raise concerns about children"s safety.

• The main problems relate to the marking of buses as such for the transport of children
• the condition of fire extinguishers
• tire wear
• the validity of technical inspections and certificates for additional equipment inspection.

The peace of mind is relative _q_ the removal of these problems is not a guarantee of absolute safety.

The Ministry of Transport and Communications expects the inspections to continue with unabated intensity.

From the first school day until the end of September, control will also be carried out on the roads.

Inspectors will closely monitor the technical condition of the buses, the validity of the documents and, most importantly, whether the given orders have been fulfilled.

To ensure maximum safety for students, this strict control will continue throughout the school year, including during vacations.

The scale of the task is enormous.

The Minister of Education and Science, Krassimir Valchev, announced earlier today that around 716,000 students from first to twelfth grade will participate in the educational process during the new school year.

This means that the safety of hundreds of thousands of children depends on the effectiveness of the control and the responsibility of all participants in the process.

Serious attention is paid to this issue, but given the potential risk, it is necessary to guarantee maximum strictness in complying with all rules and regulations related to the transport of children.
