Acting Prosecutor General Borislav Sarafov has taken a decisive step in the fight against domestic violence, issuing a new instruction aimed at strengthening the effectiveness and speed of work on cases in this category. The news, distributed by the press center of the Prosecutor's Office, emphasizes that the main goal of the measure is to provide timely and priority protection for victims.

The document was developed with the idea of creating a unified mechanism of action that would guarantee a quick reaction both to initial reports of violence and to non-compliance with an already issued protection order. The statement indicates that the instruction is directly related to the latest legislative changes aimed at improving the rights of victims and people at risk. It also strengthens state policy on prevention.

The internal recommendations to prosecutors include specific actions to be taken upon receipt of complaints, reports, or files from the Ministry of Interior. Among the key points is the requirement to notify the relevant territorial Directorate of "Social Assistance" in every case in which the violence was committed in the presence of or against minors, disabled persons, or persons placed under interdiction.

Special attention is paid to cases where the victim is in a helpless state or is dependent on the abuser. In such situations, the prosecutor is obliged to promptly file a request with the district court for the issuance of a protection order, thus ensuring that the victim will receive the necessary legal support without delay.

The statement further clarifies that Sarafov has ordered the administrative heads of the district and regional prosecutor's offices in the country to create an organization for the strict implementation of the new instructions. Permanent control is foreseen for the timely administration of cases and periodic analysis of the results, which aims to maintain high efficiency and allow for corrections if necessary.
