Abolishing Inheritance Certificates: Bill from PP-DB

Bozhidar Bozhanov and a group of MPs from the parliamentary group “We Continue the Change-Democratic Bulgaria” (WCC-DB) submitted legislative changes to the National Assembly, aimed at eliminating the need for issuing certificates of inheritance. The press service of “Yes, Bulgaria” announced this important step, which is about to transform the administrative process.

The co-chair of “Yes, Bulgaria” Bozhidar Bozhanov, whose words are quoted in the provided information, emphasizes that the upcoming era of digitalization and the planned organizational changes make the issuing and presentation of these certificates an outdated practice. He notes that it is unacceptable for people to be forced to go through heavy bureaucratic procedures at one of the most difficult moments in human life.

It is planned that, upon receiving a death notification, the data of the heirs will be automatically updated in the population register. This means that every institution that needs this information will receive it ex officio.

According to the proposers, the certificate of inheritance represents an unnecessary bureaucratic complication, especially in the delicate moment after the loss of a loved one. They believe that the current practice is completely unnecessary and should be replaced with an official electronic reference, which will be provided by any institution authorized by law to process this data.

"Citizens should stop being couriers for the administration," Bozhidar Bozhanov categorically states.

In addition to this initiative, last week MPs from “Yes, Bulgaria” submitted to the parliament a bill to amend and supplement the Labor Code. The goal is to provide an opportunity for employees to use the accumulated paid annual leave, acquired during pregnancy and maternity, on an hourly basis for accompanying and/or picking up children up to 12 years of age from and to kindergarten or school.
