Plovdiv Drama Theatre brings "The Lovesick Airship" to Burgas tonight. The play is part of the 9th Port Prim Art Fest and starts at 19:30 at the NHK Culture House.

This report follows our earlier story on the play's visit to the NHK Culture House, which said the show was on 8 October.

Diana Dobreva directs. Alexander Sekulov wrote the script and the original text it is built on. The text also draws on poems, memories and interviews of Ivan Metodiev, Dobromir Tonev, Miryana Basheva and Grisha Trifonov.

The play is about the fragility of the artist and the power of poetry. On stage, words mix with music and imagery.

Dobreva says the idea for the play came from the lives and work of iconic Bulgarian poets. Besides the poems, the text has its own script, written by Sekulov.

"There was something that united them, like a shared fate, something above the real and the same in their view of the world," Dobreva told Bulgarian National Radio. She says the four poets' similar fates and outlook fit the idea behind the play.

Nine actors are on stage: Konstantin Elenkov, Martin Rakov, Maria Sotirova, Boris Krastev, Paola Maravilya, Alexandra Svilenova, Ivana Krumova, Nikolay Stanoev and Gabriela Chonina.

This year, "The Lovesick Airship" is among the most awarded and most talked-about Bulgarian productions.
