Bulgaria saw 37,251 job ads in September, down 16 from August, says job site Job Tiger. This is a small drop of about 0.04%.

The labor market in Burgas stayed nearly the same as in August. Across the six cities tracked, total job ads grew by about 1%. Ads in Sofia rose by about 4%, and Stara Zagora saw a rise of about 2%. Ads fell by about 3% in Plovdiv, 6% in Varna, and 5% in Ruse. Sofia holds about 40% of all ads, Plovdiv has about 10%, and Varna has about 7%.

Compared to last year, job ads are down about 9.5%, or about 3,900 fewer ads than in September 2025. Most categories are below last year's levels. Job Tiger experts said that after a 6% rise in August, the market is neither growing nor shrinking. They called September a month of holding steady rather than a clear rise or fall.

Trade and sales saw the biggest jump, with 683 more ads, up 7.4%. Marketing and advertising rose by about 8.7%, HR by nearly 8%, and healthcare and pharma by 2.4%. Admin and service jobs, as well as construction, stayed the same.

Hotels and restaurants fell by about 5.7%. Accounting, audit, and finance fell by about 3%, manufacturing by 1.2%, and IT by about 1%. Compared to last year, these are down about 22%. Job Tiger said the end of the summer season may explain why hotel jobs fell. The company said the steady overall result does not mean there is no movement. Growing sectors are balancing out those with less demand, and regional gaps were wider in September than in August.

Trade and sales make up the largest share of all ads at about 27%. Manufacturing follows at 18%, while hotels and restaurants sit at 13%. Admin and service jobs make up 11%.

There were 2,533 ads for remote and work-from-home jobs on platforms that track this data. This is up about 2.5% from August, marking the second month of growth. Compared to last year, these ads are down nearly 25%, and they make up about 7.3% of all ads tracked. About 44% of remote jobs are in IT, 22% in admin and service jobs, 17% in business process outsourcing, and 12% in trade and sales.

In early September, Job Tiger reported that August saw a 5.9% rise from July. The number of ads stayed just below June levels and was 9.4% lower than in August 2025.
