New fire station and police station in Simitli - a key step to improve security in the region

The new fire department base was officially opened in Simitli, which will also include the Simitli Section of the Second Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Interior - Blagoevgrad. The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Ministry of Interior, the regional and local authorities, as well as employees of the Ministry of Interior and citizens.

The Minister of Interior Daniel Mitov emphasized that the renovated base is a symbol of good coordination between the Ministry of Interior and the local authorities. He praised the employees who will work there as people ready to face danger to protect the citizens. Mitov stated that the training system for Ministry of Interior employees will be improved and modernized, with a laboratory with the latest tasers being built at the Ministry of Interior Academy.

The creation of the base of the Directorate General "Fire Safety and Population Protection" in Simitli was carried out with the support of the Ministry of Interior, on the initiative of the Municipality of Simitli. The goal is to contribute to higher security and peace for the residents of the region. The renovation work and adaptation of the base began in November 2024 and were completed in just six months. The facility is equipped with modern equipment and offers improved working conditions for firefighters, rescue teams, and police officers.

The aim of the project is to significantly improve the response time in case of fires, disasters, and accidents in the municipality and surrounding settlements, thereby increasing the overall security in the region.
