The "Road Infrastructure" Agency has launched a procedure for the selection of a contractor for the design and construction of the third section of the "Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo" motorway between the cities of Byala and Veliko Tarnovo. The total length of the section is about 60 km, and it is divided into three subsections.
The first subsection is 23.8 km long, stretching from the road junction at the intersection of road I-3 Gara Byala - Pleven to the intersection with the "Hemus" motorway. Three bids have been submitted for this section by the DZZD "MAGISTRALA 2025", DZZD "BYALA - TARNOVO LOT 1" and DZZD "AM RUSE - VELIKO TARNOVO-IPBH".
The second subsection is approximately 20 km long, starting from the intersection with the "Hemus" motorway and reaching the intersection with road I-4 Veliko Tarnovo - Sofia. Four bids have been submitted for this section by the ASSOCIATION "GEOPAM 2025", DZZD "BYALA-TARNOVO", DZZD "LOT 2 RUSE- VELIKO TARNOVO" and DZZD "AM RUSE - VELIKO TARNOVO-IPBH".
The third subsection is 16.2 km long, stretching from the intersection with road I-4 Veliko Tarnovo - Sofia to road II-55 Debelec - Nova Zagora. Five bids have been submitted for this section by DZZD "MAGISTRALA 2025", DZZD DOGUSH EOOD - AB AD, DZZD "OBKHOD VT", Association "AM Ruse - Lot 3" and "LOT 3 BYALA -VELIKO TARNOVO" DZZD.
The estimated value of the contract for the design and construction of the entire 60-kilometer section is 2.967 billion BGN excluding VAT, and the planned implementation period is 1770 calendar days. The selected contractors will be responsible for the preparation of the technical projects, the processing of the PUP-PP and the construction of the respective sections.
The construction of the "Ruse - Veliko Tarnovo" motorway is a priority for the "Road Infrastructure" Agency and a number of national and European institutions, as the future motorway will provide a key North-South transport link between the countries of Northeastern Europe, Romania and Bulgaria with Greece and Turkey, as well as between the Baltic and Mediterranean Seas.
