The newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Congo to Bulgaria, H.E. Ms. Edith Antoanet Itua, officially took office on June 5, 2025, at a ceremony where she presented copies of her credentials to the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria, Ms. Maria Angelieva. During the meeting, the two sides emphasized the shared commitment to strengthening and expanding bilateral cooperation, with a particular focus on the areas of education, economy, and tourism.
The contribution of Congolese citizens who have received education in Bulgarian higher education institutions, including several senior officials and serving ministers in the government of the Republic of Congo, was highly appreciated. This has contributed to building authority and respect for Bulgaria in Congo.
