Tomorrow, September 24, the National Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology is issuing a yellow warning for frost in seven regions – Sofia, Sofia City, Pernik, Kyustendil, Blagoevgrad, Pazardzhik and Smolyan.

Overnight, the clouds will break up, and by morning the sky will clear completely. The wind will die down and in many areas will stop altogether. Overnight lows will drop to between 5 and 10 degrees Celsius, while the Black Sea coast will be a bit warmer, between 11 and 13. In the valleys and high plains of western and central Bulgaria, temperatures will fall to 1-3 degrees, with light frost expected in some spots.

Tomorrow will start off sunny, with clouds building up temporarily around and after midday. Winds will be light to moderate from the west-northwest. Highs will reach 19 to 24 degrees, with Sofia seeing around 20.

Along the Black Sea coast, the weather will also be mostly sunny, with slightly more cloud cover around midday and in the afternoon. Winds will blow at moderate strength from the northwest, shifting to the southeast-south in the afternoon. Daytime highs there will range from 20 to 23 degrees, and the sea will stay warm at 22 to 24 degrees, with waves of 2-3 on the Beaufort scale.

Sunshine will dominate in the mountains as well. Around and after midday, however, cumulus and cumulonimbus clouds will form, and in the ranges of southwestern Bulgaria scattered rain showers are possible. On the highest peaks, snow will fall instead of rain. Winds there will be light, from the north-northwest. At 1,200 meters, temperatures will be around 12 degrees, and at 2,000 meters, around 4.
