Basketball club Akademik Bulteks 99 officially confirmed the continuation of contractual relations with their key player - Nikolay Mikhaylov. The athlete signed a new three-year contract, which will bind him to the "students" at least until 2026.

The past season in the National Basketball League (NBL) was extremely indicative of the young basketball player's qualities. Although the team was eliminated in the quarter-final playoffs against Spartak (Pleven), Mikhaylov demonstrated remarkable statistics - an average of 11.6 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 1.7 assists per game.

His impressive performances did not go unnoticed by the national selection staff. In recognition of his individual skills, Mikhaylov received an official call-up to the Bulgarian national team, which is set to participate in the preliminary qualifications for the World Championship in 2027.
