Neynski on the Elections: Most Honest and Transparent, Bulgarians Returned to Voting

The April 19 elections were the fairest and most transparent, and the people's desire to vote returned, said the caretaker Minister of Foreign Affairs Nadezhda Neynsky on Bulgarian National Television (BNT). According to her, this is the beginning of increased activity of Bulgarians in the electoral process. 

Outside the country, 200,000 Bulgarian citizens exercised their right to vote, and this was under the restrictions that the parliament imposed on the number of polling stations for countries outside the European Union. For comparison, in the previous elections, when there were no such restrictions, 150,000 people voted, said Neynsky.

Regarding the rise in prices, the foreign minister said that it is not due to the introduction of the euro, but to the allowance of speculative price increases, which began long before the introduction of the euro. The euro is not the reason for the price increase, but the inability of regulatory mechanisms to prevent and control this process, commented Neynsky

Regarding the loan of 90 billion euros for Ukraine, Nadezhda Neynski explained that in the hypothetical scenario that Ukraine cannot repay the loan, the money will not come from national budgets, but from the budget surpluses of the EU, and not from the money that is set aside for each member state, but from the general budget. Bulgaria is not bound in any way financially, and the worst-case scenario cannot bring financial burdens to Bulgaria, explained Neynski.
