Nessebar continues its tradition of hosting the international youth football tournament "Black Sea Cup," which is organized in two separate stages. The second phase of the prestigious competition kicks off on August 29 and will run through September 3.

This year's edition brings together around 1,500 participants, comprising 90 teams from three countries — Bulgaria, Moldova and Romania. Children born between 2012 and 2019 will take part in the competition. The host city will be represented by young athletes from the academies of OFC Nessebar and FC Atletik.

The event is being organized under the patronage of Nessebar Mayor Nikolay Dimitrov, who shared his impressions: "I'm proud that our town is hosting such a large-scale tournament. We're investing in sports infrastructure to offer excellent conditions for international events like this one. Youth sports are a key priority in the municipality's policy, as they instill discipline, team spirit, sportsmanship, determination and perseverance in young people."

Matches are being held across sports facilities in Nessebar and Ravda. The event's main organizer is FC Sport Village, with logistical support from OFC Nessebar, while the overall initiative is backed by the Nessebar Municipality.

The tournament has a long-standing history, now in its ninth year, taking place in June and August. Across its two stages, it brings together more than 300 teams from the following countries:

  • Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Ukraine, Moldova, Romania, Greece, Turkey, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Serbia, Croatia, Poland and Finland.
