From January 5th to today, the National Revenue Agency (NRA) has inspected over 1,000 establishments, with violations related to price increases found in 28 of them. This was stated by Vladimir Ivanov, the chairman of the Euro Coordination Center to the Coordination Mechanism for monitoring and control regarding the introduction of the euro, in the "Sunday 150" program on BNR. 

He added that 140 grocery stores, 494 hair salons, and separately, fitness centers, parking lots, and restaurants have been inspected.  

The Consumer Protection Commission conducted 136 inspections, initiated 17 administrative-penal proceedings, and concluded 35 agreements. During the week, there were reports of price increases for coupons in school canteens, and inspections were carried out. After them, the owners of the companies that supply the food have returned the prices to pre-New Year levels, explained Ivanov. 

According to him, ten medical laboratories were also inspected, with price increases recorded in 3 of them, and it will be determined whether this is economically justified or not. 

According to Ivanov, most problems are found in services, not so much in the trade sector.

The whole picture from the inspections shows a good environment and that the people who break the law are few - violations were found in 7 percent of those inspected, he said. 

Ivanov recalled that there were also reports of problems with banks, which have already been resolved. All banks have euro banknotes, they are not turning people away, he assured.  

Ivanov denied information circulating in the public sphere that the deadline for using the lev and the euro would be extended - it remains only until the end of January. The Ministry of Finance announced this earlier in the week, BTA reminds.
