Fake emails are going out in the name of Bulgaria's National Revenue Agency (NRA) to steal people's email usernames and passwords, the agency has warned. It said the messages did not come from it.

The scam messages look like official NRA letters and contain links to fake websites. The sites try to capture login details for email accounts, such as those on abv.bg.

The NRA advises anyone who gets such a message to check the sender's address first. People should not open links in suspicious emails, or enter personal data, usernames or passwords on unofficial sites.

Anyone who has already entered their details on a fake site should change their email password at once, using a safe device.
