Tsarevo will host a new international folk festival in June 2027, with more than 800 performers from Balkan countries, mayor Marin Kirov has said.
The idea came from Maria Gradeshlieva, head of the Filip Kutev National School of Folk Arts, and Prof. Binka Dobreva. Tsarevo council is helping to organise it.
"I accepted the idea of Mrs Maria Gradeshlieva and Prof. Binka Dobreva without reservation and with great gratitude," Kirov said. He said the two women have long supported causes in Tsarevo.
Stages will be set up in Tsarevo, Ahtopol, Lozenets and Sinemorets. The programme includes music and a showcase of Balkan food. Organisers will also try to set a Guinness World Record. They will say what it is for later, along with other details of the festival.
In October, Tsarevo council presented its culture and festival calendar at an exhibition in Veliko Tarnovo. It listed events in Tsarevo, Ahtopol, Lozenets and Sinemorets, including folk celebrations and festivals.
Kirov said the event is international, with many activities and participants. "It is a real pleasure for me to work together on this large project," the mayor added.

Царево ли? Аз там съм бил, хубаво е! 800 участници наистина ли толкова ще са?
