The Pancho Vladigerov National Academy of Music and the Petko Zadgorski Burgas Art Gallery have signed a memorandum on cooperation in the arts in Sofia. Both institutions also agreed to back Burgas's bid to become a European Capital of Culture.

Academy rector Prof. Dr. Sava Dimitrov and gallery director Andrey Yanev signed the document.

The academy and the gallery will share professional experience, organise joint cultural events and present their work in music, dance and the visual arts. The agreement also provides for jointly created art projects, work by experts, shared archives and joint projects.

The academy's branch in Burgas has a special role in the partnership, linking education with cultural institutions.

The signing follows a meeting in Burgas on 8 October, where the two sides discussed options for future joint initiatives.
