On June 16, 2025, a regular meeting of the Coordination Center, established in connection with the tension in the Middle East, was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting was chaired by Minister Georg Georgiev, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bulgarian diplomats from missions in the region participated.
During the meeting, the current situation, potential security risks, and necessary steps to protect Bulgarian citizens and diplomatic representations were discussed. The Coordination Center confirmed its readiness for a timely response in the event of an escalation of the situation and adopted specific measures to improve the exchange of information between institutions.
